EME2040: In-Class Blog post
Prior to this class, I can say that I am familiar with most technology that is often used inside of the classroom. In high school we used the common technology like computers, Ipads and Smartboards; often both inside and outside of the classroom. I have also volunteered a lot inside of the classroom with younger children in Elementary schools. I have noticed that younger children tend to be very responsive with technology and tools within the classroom. My grandmother is a VPK teacher and she often uses her smartboard and projector in almost every lesson that she teaches. The fact that technology is so easily accessible to schools, I think it is very important to include these tools within the classroom as an aid for learning.
When I signed up for this class I had hopes of being able to teach my grandma new and innovative ways that she can use technology within her classroom. But in addition to this I would like to learn more about Microsoft excel and sharpen up my skills with using technology. I look forward to the interactive learning styles and posting on my own blog. Learning new and innovative technology ways is something that is exciting and very important for me and my future profession as an Elementary Educator. I really would like to learn more about the innovative technologies that are still in the developmental phases that may be coming out in the next couple of years when I begin teaching myself.
Today in class I have learned that there are still something that I need to work on and learn for future classes. Such as the shortcuts for computers and how to do some tasks that I was unfamiliar with. I am very happy that we use DELL's in this class and not MAC's because they confuse me with all of the high tech buttons. However learning how to use a MAC is something that I would like to learn more about in the future. Especially as an Educator because Apple is such a big company I feel like it will come in handy. I enjoyed creating a Blog, it was something that I had never done before so that was something new that I learned today in this class.
